Clearly ‘country pop fairytale’ is a lucrative brand of music. Taylor Swift has topped the Forbes list of highest paid celebrities under 30 .

In a list dominated by females, Swift made an estimated $57 million between May 2011 and May 2012. It’s not much of a surprise when you consider that each of her three albums have gone quadruple platinum and a concert brings in $1 million per night.

I wish somebody had told me that teaming pink taffeta with cowboy boots while crooning in a tree earns you $57 million.

Swift even beat out the formidable Justin Bieber, who made $55 million. At 18, Biebs can’t legally smoke or drink in some parts of his native country Canada, yet he’s probably wealthy enough to buy most of it now.

At number three is Rihanna. This is to be expected as it feels like she’s produced 400 studio albums already and it’s allegedly taken its toll. Rumour has it Rihanna has needed a break to recover from the series of excruciating wedgies she’s been giving herself over the last few years*.

Predictably enough Lady Gaga and Katy Perry round out the top five, with Adele at number six. Various Twilight kiddies make the list too and will no doubt be included next year as well with the upcoming release of Breaking Dawn Part Two: This Time It’s Really Broken.
