Simple Plan to film Human Trafficking Documentary
Canadian pop-punk band Simple Plan has had the opportunity to play in over sixty countries across the globe. They’ve touched thousands of people all over the world, and this has made drummer Chuck Comeau realise how powerful an impact music can have on people’s lives.
In an interview with Alternative Press, Comeau stated, “I’ve had the chance to accomplish almost every childhood dream I ever had… I can’t even begin to explain how grateful I am.”
It’s these thoughts that made Simple Plan establish the Simple Plan Foundation in December of 2005. Since establishment, the foundation has reportedly raised over $750,000. Yet, apparently, this is not enough.
Yesterday, Comeau announced via Twitter that the band would be working with MTV EXIT to film a documentary in Sapa.
Tomorrow we are off to Sapa to keep on learning about the issue of #HumanTrafficking and film a documentary with @mtvexit

The announcement came the day after MTV EXIT’s anti-trafficking concert in Hanoi, which featured performances from artists including Simple Plan, Brown Eyed Girls, Kate Miller-Heidke and My Tam. The concert had 40,000 attendants and was Simple Plan’s first ever show in Vietnam.
Each member of the band took to their Twitter to speak out on their thoughts regarding human trafficking:
Thank you so much to @mtvexit for putting on this awesome event & for their work to stop #HumanTrafficking Together we can change the world.
