Producer Frank Marshall Confirms The End of Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones Producer Frank Marshall has revealed that a previously hinted-at Indiana Jones 5 has little to no chance of materialising. Considering writer George Lucas’ recent retirement and the relatively disappointing Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, perhaps it’s for the best.
In 2008, director Steven Spielberg said that Lucas had an idea for a fifth instalment, however no plot or screenplay developments were subsequently confirmed.
In an interview with Collider promoting his newest Bourne release as producer, Marshall stated:
“I say, for me, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is the last hurrah. I know that yes, we talk about it, but there’s no idea, there’s no MacGuffin.”
While Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was far from the ideal finale to the iconic series, a clean break would be better than to drag wary audiences along for the ride. The circumstances are dire and it’s safe to say that the action hero has hung up his fedora for the last time.
