Kerbal Space Program – Additional Content and Features Launching

A very small number of you might have heard of Kerbal Space Program, also known as KSP. It is an indie game unlike many others. Recently the KSP Dev Team SQUAD has released the latest version of the game; KSP 0.16. Surprisingly, they have encountered server problems due to the popular demand of the update, but luckily the game is still downloadable. So what is it? KSP, in the simplest terms, is a spaceship simulator. Although that is a simple way of describing the game, the game in fact is not simple at all. In previous versions the player was only given the option of building a spaceship/rocket and sending into orbit around the Earth equivalent called Kerbal. This sounds easy but is actually quite deceptive. My first attempt to even launch a ship ended with it exploding in my face. The boosters I had piled around the base of the the craft exploded and obliterated the crew and the rest of the ship due to them overheating. It is not really as simple as putting more rockets on if it’s too heavy. Player’s must take into account heat, weight, stability, velocity and so forth.

Over the last few patches and most recently, the option to build aerospace planes and travel to two new planets has been added along with other new features such as EVA (Extra-Vehicular Activities), Ship tracking and more rocket parts. KSP also has a dedicated Modding Community. A number of new mods have been released as well as many of the older mods being included in the latest version of the game.
