Ellen Page Threatened with Murder
Social networking has always had its flaws, one of them being the sheer fact that it gives a platform for crazy people to have their voices heard (Youtube comment sections, Facebook troll groups, Lady Gaga’s fans) and if there’s one person who is certainly feeling the extreme scary nature of Twitter today it’s Juno star Ellen Page.
Since June, the actress has received a number of death threats on her twitter account including, “I’m going to murder Ellen Page, she’s dead” and “Ellen Page, If you continue to date Alexander [Skarsgard] I will K-1-L-L you in public in the next year… Be it in a club, at a game, in a restaurant or when you’re signing autographs.”
No statement has been made so far from Page, but Los Angeles police detectives are investigating the situation and have filed a search warrant to trace the Twitter accounts of the sender. They also believe that the threats may be linked to an anonymous phone call that organisers at the LA film festival recieved back in June, when an eerie voice said they too were going to “kill Page.”
This all leads to the question of why anyone would want to murder someone as sweet and beloved as Ellen Page… I mean, Whip It wasn’t that bad.
