Clip Bin #7: Usher, Passion Pit, Azealia Banks, 50 Cent + more

Clip Bin #7: Usher, Passion Pit, Azealia Banks, 50 Cent + more

It’s that time of the week again where we throw together some of the more memorable clips released to help out those of you who’ve been living under a rock for the past seven days.

The 7th iteration of Clip Bin brings us some choice clips, with Azealia Banks in the Wild West, 50 Cent back in the bullpen and Waka Flocka in his ‘rari with a giant cock.

 ——————————————————————————————————————-

Azealia Banks – Liquorice

Up-and-coming female MC Azealia Banks goes wild in western cowgirl garb, amongst a slew of other eye catching outfits.

The clip comes complete with all of the sexual undertones of her smash hit 212, all the while lacking any inkling of subtlety as we get gratuitous shots of Banks sucking an icy pole.

Passion Pit – Take a Walk

Passion Pit deliver a visually stunning clip of life through the eyes of a bouncing blue ball in a world where the rules of physics seem to matter as much as the points did on Whose Line is it Anyway.

Bobby Womack – Whatever Happened to the Times

Legend of soul Bobby Womack dropped the visuals to the intro track of his recently released album The Bravest Man in the Universe, which is surprisingly his first piece of original work in almost 20 years.

After collaborating on the track Stylo in 2010, Womack has worked very closely on the album with Blur and Gorillaz front man Damon Albarn, who produced the majority of the tracks alongside XL Records chief Richard Russell.

Much like the track, the video is filled with hidden meaning, likening interstellar exploration with the search for understanding of one’s own soul.

 Usher - Scream

It seems Usher has been taking some cues from Michael Jackson and David Bowie in his latest clip, with the minimalist approach more than reminiscent of both Rock With You and Heroes.

Kool AD – Gwyneth Paltrow ft. Himanshu

Heems and Kool A.D. of Das Racist tackle Kendrick Lamar and Dr Dre’s smooth ode to Cali, The Recipe.

Like most of the pair’s previous work, the clip is definitely out there, and features two men with what can only be described as masks made out of putty. Very bizarre indeed.

San Cisco – Rocket Ship

Nostaliga, Freo and cheap animal costumes abound.

Waka Flocka Flame – Rooster in my Rari

Waka takes the idiom “Rooster in my Rari” very literally and gets buck with a giant Rooster. Hilarity ensues.

BADBADNOTGOOD – Mercy

Jazz trio BADBADNOTGOOD leave their mark on Kanye West and GOOD Music’s latest single, Mercy.

50 Cent – OJ ft. Kidd Kidd

“I’m pulling off an OJ/I’m killin’ these bitches”

I’m not sure what’s worse, giving props to OJ for getting away with murder or having to listen to Kidd Kidd rap. That being said, Fif looks to be enjoying himself in this relatively light hearted clip.

Sky Ferreira – Red Lips

Sky Ferreira teams up with infamous photographer Terry Richardson to give as a provocative, albeit slightly disturbing clip, with the help of a rather intimidating arachnid.

Action Bronson x Party Supplies – Steve Wynn

Revenge of the Nerds: The Action Bronson Edition.

J Dilla – Dillatroit

Guilty Simpson, Nick Spped and Supa Emcess all pay tribute to the late and great Jay Dee, in this clip from Dilla’s highly anticipated posthumous album Rebirth of Detroit, which solely features artists from D-town.

Thanks for dropping by, I’ll leave you with this very special clip of 7 pianists playing Ni**as in Paris at the same time.
