Breath of Life a Festival with a Cause

Setting the benchmark as Tasmania’s largest music festival for its 2012 show – raising a total of $500,000, the Australian Lung Foundation is looking to make the 2013 Breath of Life festival even bigger.
Held on the Sunday of the March long-weekend of 2013, this festival will play host to a variety of artists such as Birds of Tokyo, Dead Letter Circus, 360, Dizzee Rascal and The Amity Affliction.
But, perhaps you are scratching your head. Breath of Life? Why haven’t we heard of this one before? Well, the event is in only its second year. It is the brain-child of ARIA winning artist Diesel and the Lizotte family whose vision is to raise funds to help generate awareness and research about lung health through working with the Australian Lung Foundation.
“It is important that people value and look after their lungs from an early age. The Breath of Life festival provides an excellent platform for us to communicate this message to the youth in Tasmania,” says William Darbishire, CEO of the Australian Lung Foundation.
Having raised $70,000 in ticket sales and merchandise alone in its first year, the team is confident the research and funding will get even better.
People are encouraged to help donate to the cause by accessing the Australian Lung Foundation website.
Additional acts are yet to be announced.
