Abe’s Oddysee HD Needs A New Name
Abe’s Oddysee is a hugely successful ’97 platform game, in which the main character – Abe – sets out to escape the meat processing factory he works in. The game won more awards than you can count, and is returning in HD for what has so far been referred to as “Abe HD”. Abe HD is looking for a new name, however – and if you pick the best one, you’ll get a nice prize.
The official post on Oddworld.com reads:
“Hey there, fellow chumps! Here on Oddworld we’re having a little problem… maybe you can be the one to solve it!
See, we need a name for our 2.5D remake of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, and we need it in time for the big reveal later this year. We’ve considered Abe’s Oddysee HD, but that makes it sound like we’ve injected bigger pictures into the original engine. This is a grounds-up remake with glorious 3D graphics but retaining the classic 2D gameplay! We need a name that stands out and does it justice!
So if you’ve got your naming caps on and want to flex those titling muscles that you’ve been pumping every evening down at the imagym, just fill out this convenient form with your details and your idea.”
Entrants can submit as many times a they like, and the standout idea will both succesfully title the game and earn a spot in the credits. Additionally, the winner will receive a poster of the cover art, signed by Raymond Swanland himself!
